Brexit call with business leaders falls flat

Boris Johnson and Michael Gove spoke to business leaders yesterday on preparations for Brexit, with sources telling the Telegraph bosses were left unimpressed by the conference call. Industry leaders were told to prepare for no-deal with one listener saying the call was an attempt to rally business but there was no new information. However, there were signals from Mr Johnson and Mr Gove that support would be available for SMEs which are likely to be harder hit as they are less well equipped to handle the transition than larger operations. Downing Street said the call saw Mr Johnson tell business this “should be a moment of change and dynamism for the UK, providing businesses with fantastic opportunities”.
