Facebook grants for SMEs delayed

A coronavirus grants programme for small businesses launched by Facebook in March is yet to award any cash to companies in Britain. Offering a mix of cash and advertising credits, the $100m (£80m) competition was intended to support 30,000 businesses in more than 30 countries, but UK entrepreneurs have been told the “large number of applications” are still being worked through. Facebook said 10,000 small businesses “from multiple countries” would receive a grant by the end of this month, with the rest of the funding provided “by the end of the summer”.
