Small manufacturers not hopeful of Brexit boost

A study by the South West Manufacturing Advisory Service (SWMAS) and the Manufacturing Growth Programme has found that just 3% of SME manufacturers in England believe Brexit will help their economic recovery. Additionally, almost half of management teams in the survey of 400 firms admitted they have no idea how the transition out of the EU will affect their business. Almost two-thirds of respondents said they are still trading below pre-pandemic levels, while more than a quarter feel it will take between one and five years to return to normal. Meanwhile, a separate report from BDO found almost two in five medium-size businesses have no plan for Brexit.
