Bank of England data shows that bank lending to SMEs grew at a record rate in August. Lending increased 21.8% last month, or by £2.2bn. Mike Bristow, chief executive of CrowdProperty, said: “There is more demand from SMEs because they’re struggling as opposed to last year and banks have been supported to lend to them through government schemes.”
