14-day quarantine for travellers set to be cut to five days

The Government is considering cutting the 14-day quarantine period to five days as part of a new “test and release” system, the Times reports, with the change possibly coming into effect from next month. Meanwhile, Germany and Sweden are being added to the Government's travel quarantine red list as ministers insisted it is critical they stop coronavirus cases from being imported into the country during the national lockdown. People returning from the two countries will have to self-isolate for 14 days after 4am on Saturday.
