Customers have named fintechs Monzo and First Direct as providing the best service, beating traditional banks. An Ipsos MORI survey of 1,000 customers from each of the 19 biggest personal current account providers found that 85% and 83% of Monzo and First Direct customers respectively would recommend them – while Tesco Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland performed the worst, with just 47% of customers willing to recommend them. Adam Land from the Competition and Markets Authority welcomed the league table as an “invaluable resource for customers to find the best service on offer to suit their needs.” “By being able to access data on the best and worst performing banks and building societies, people can easily compare providers, driving more competition to improve the overall quality of service”, he added.
