Just a quarter of self-employed people able to access support

An Office for National Statistics survey of more than 6,000 households has found that just 24% of self-employed people were able to access support from the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) up to October 2020. According to the latest official figures, 3.4m freelancers were found to be eligible for the grants, while 2.7m of around 5m self-employed workers had received SEISS grants.
